Do you want to make a difference to your community and advance your research career? Do you have research that you think can impact future generations? Do you want to be a part of Māori leading NZ into the future?

Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga is currently offering three new, 2-year Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (PDRFs) valued at up to $78,615 per annum.

These full-time fellowships will support outstanding Māori graduates who have recently completed a doctoral degree, and are committed to conducting and supporting research that contributes to NPM’s vision of “Māori leading New Zealand into the future”.

They are available to applicants from all disciplines, and from all over the country. However, the proposed postdoctoral research must be based at one of our 21 partner institutions and must align with one of NPM’s three research themes:

  • Whai Rawa - Research for Māori Economies
  • Te Tai Ao - The Natural Environment
  • Mauri Ora - Human Flourishing

All PDRF research will align with our overarching programme of Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori, which seeks to increase the revitalisation and normalisation of te reo me ngā tikanga throughout all our research settings, networks and communities.

It is expected that the research fellows will be supervised by NPM researcher(s) from the host institution where the fellowship is located. Additionally, they will be mentored by at least one member of the NPM Research Leadership Team
