One Year Te Reo Māori Doctoral Completion Scholarship

Te Taura Whiri I te Reo Māori and Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga are in partnership to build capacity and capability in Māori language research and support revitalisation.

Purpose:

To provide financial assistance and incentive to doctoral candidates who are not in receipt of any other significant income to complete their doctoral study and thesis submission. 

Eligibility:

Doctoral candidates who are currently enrolled and in the final year of a doctoral degree. Candidates must be completing their thesis in English on Māori Language Revitalisation, or, writing their thesis in Te Reo Māori on any subject.

Tenure:

Up to 12 months.

Funding:

Up to NZD20,000, plus costs for thesis binding ($500). There are 2 Tohu Puiaki - Doctoral Completion Scholarships available via this September 2017 call for applications.

Applications:

Applications open on 1 May 2018 and close at 4.00pm on 12 June 2018.

Applications for the Tohu Puiaki - Doctoral Completion Scholarships must be submitted using the online application form below, and all information and documents must be uploaded by the closing date 12 June 2018.
