On behalf of Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga (New Zealand's Māori Centre of Research Excellence), I wish to invite you to a lecture and the launch of our monograph, ‘Te Ara Pūtaiao/Māori Insights in Science’, at 4.30 pm on Wednesday 13 May 2009. See attached invitation.

Programme

4.30pm: Assemble in Tanenuiārangi meeting house, The University of Auckland.

1. Karakia and welcome.

2. Lecture by Professor Michael Walker, Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, based on his Dean Batt Memorial Lecture 2008, ‘He Whāinga Māramatanga, He Kimihanga Tūrangawaewae: Seeking Understanding, Seeking a Place’.

3. Launch of book.

4. Brief addresses by authors.

5. Refreshments in foyer of Māori Studies building.
